Windows, Doors, Staircases and Joinery

Designed and built with the same care and skill used for his Cabinet Making, David
often turns his hand to making made to measure windows, wooden doors, wooden staircases
and other items of household joinery and carpentry.

Timber framed casement and box-sash windows
"Windows are the Eyes of Your house." It is without doubt that windows can dramatically affect the
overall appearance of your property, and affect its value. Installing sympathetically designed, and skillfully
made windows, or having existing windows carefully restored, is certainly one way to enhance your home.
David can offer a wide range of window styles - both single and double glazed. (You are still allowed to install
single glazed windows on historic buildings.) David's styles includes both traditional casement windows and
sliding box-sash windows.

Handmade Wooden Doors
Wooden doors, both internal and external, are available in just about any shape and size - from traditional designs
such as ledge and brace (plank) doors, Victorian/Edwardian style panelled doors to more modern styles and french windows.
Glazed panels, including stained glass panels, can be incorporated too.
The unusual external door pictured here features two opening widnows set within the door - a novel alternative
to a stable door.

Custom made wooden staircases
Whether you're looking for a grand central staircase for a large Victorian/Edwardian house, or a more humble
set of stairs for a character cottage, wooden staircases, and/or replacement stair parts can be made to suit
just about any property.
The "double winder" staircase pictured here shows how imaginative design allows stairs to be fitted into a tight
corner. In this case, the staircase allows access to a loft conversion.
